Hey everyone!
I'm in Thailand!
It's so exciting. I was rushed, but I made it. And I thank everyone who has helped me out with everything - support, packing, moving out of my house for me, etc. I appreciate it all.
I have a lot of stories so far, but don't have much time so I won't go into them in detail. I'll give Abby a shout out, it was nice to randomly meet another awesome Christian on this trip. I've also met 4 other Christians, who will be living a mere 5 minutes away from my Graduate school...what are the odds?
My team is amazing, a great group of people. This is exciting. I'll get you more details on the actual trip later, as for now I'll just update you on the present.
We arrived and met in Denver, and talked with Melissa, Ken, and Andy...great people. They've helped so much in the organization and preparation for this trip. We flew from Denver to San Fran, and then to Tokyo. From Tokyo to Bangkok, and now we're here. Flights were long, we were exhausted.
We're getting ready to go do a scavenger hunt in Bangkok to acquaint ourselves with the culture. I've just feasted on some great food here.
So here's what I'll do now, I'll ask a few questions of you. What do you want to see in this blog? What questions do you want answered? I don't know what interests people so I don't want to write a bunch of junk.
As for now, I should be able to possibly update on the following days: June - 5, 8, 14, 22, and 28th. Maybe more, maybe less, as it will depend on our access from the island to the mainland. We will be emailing out newsletters as well, so if you would like to be a part of that, please send me your email address so I can give it to the right person. And if you want to forward it to anyone else, that'd be fantastic.
If you want to google where we will be going, I can get you coordinates later. But the island is "Koh Chang." There are 2 Koh Changs, ours is the one on the west coast, across from "Ranong."
Pictures will hopefully come later as well.
So I'm going to continue hanging out with the group, please pray for us and the island itself! Thank you for all of your support and prayers.
God bless.

HI BEN!!! SO glad you got to your destination safely!! Make sure you have a safe and WONDERFUL time. I heard from your side-kick Stephanie the other day! It was SO good to hear from her. She is having the time of her life!!! I have never heard her so happy! Be safe, young man and you will be in our prayers. Love, Mama Kips!
Dear Ben,
I am so glad that you are safe in Thailand! I hope you ride a elephant sometime soon and maybe you meet someone that you can take out to dinner in one of those nice shirts I packed : )
Keep us all updated on what we can be praying for - I want to be a prayer warrior for your summer project so equip a sister alreadyyyy
PS. I talked to Zach's VERY concerned mom yesterday and apparently your landlord called her and he was mad because there is still a few BIG pieces of furniture in the house (bed, desk, table). I dont know what to do because I am in orlando visiting Josh : ) but I just thought I would let you know so that your bed doesnt get given away while you are overseas....
Ok well have so much fun- see you in South Korea friendship!!!!
Hello, son,
I am so very happy you arrived safely and took a few minutes to call me when you arrived as tired as you were. Be assured that MaryJo and I did get the rest of the furniture out of the house by Friday evening, which is what I had told Tom. I am so very proud of you!! I have a big story to tell you when you get home. It would take too long in this e-mail. Remember to send me the newsletter and I will route it to others. I love you very much. I am praying for you and your project as many others are. Keep this blogspot as up to date as you can. I miss you. Your sister sends her love also.
Love you,
MOM
